Improved customer experience through increased accessibility

As a society, we expect greater accessibility and faster diagnosis and treatment. At the same time, many countries are experiencing a growing shortage of opticians, making it difficult to meet customer expectations. Medibrix has developed a platform that addresses this very issue. Through simple and proven systems, optician chains and clinics can streamline operations and improve the customer experience, without compromising patient safety or the quality of treatment.
Seamless and secure communication
One of the most important prerequisites for a good patient experience is safe and effective communication. That is why Medibrix has developed a secure tool for communicating with its customers. Here, stores can freely share both health information and other information in accordance with all privacy and security requirements. Customers receive a notification on their phone and log in securely to read messages. This builds trust and makes it easier to follow up on treatment and recommendations.
The platform also enables easy and secure dialogue between colleagues, both internally within the same store and across chains. This provides better collaboration and more holistic patient follow-up if, for example, assistants are used to perform eye exams where findings are to be interpreted by opticians later.
More flexible customer journey and better resource utilization
A flexible appointment booking solution, where patients can easily find and book appointments digitally, change or cancel them themselves, is essential in today’s technological world. At the same time, opticians will be able to gain better control over their resources by linking appointments to available staff, rooms and equipment, which reduces double bookings and frees up capacity. We see a particular challenge where the assistant and optician work on different schedules.
Another important element is pre-filling of digital forms. Medibrix’s “intelligent forms” collect health and lifestyle data before the consultation, which gives the optician a much better basis for decision-making. This also saves valuable time, often as much as 6-8 minutes per hour, and allows for the ability to see more patients, while increasing the quality of the consultations.
The forms can also be used for screening if a given patient group needs to be called in for larger check-ups. In this way, a few simple keystrokes can ensure correct follow-up and reduce the administrative burden.
Efficiency that provides increased availability
For chains with many branches, a lack of opticians often limits capacity. Medibrix’s solution, where chains can set up their own digital Optical Reading Center (Optical Reading Center) with external opticians, has made it possible to collect expert assessments in one central location. This means that clinic staff can perform certain preliminary examinations, while the opticians in the ORC analyze data and images in real time.
Synsam, Scandinavia’s largest optician chain, has implemented its own ORC and increased capacity for selected customer groups from 2-3 to 20 consultations per hour, without compromising professional quality. In addition, 32% of their examinations are now performed remotely, which both reduces costs and makes optician services accessible to many more people.
Automated follow-up and better data utilization
Medibrix’s solution also provides patients with better and more predictable follow-up. Recurring needs, such as contact lens check-ups, can be automated with reminders and schedules, so that the patient is more involved and the clinic avoids time-consuming manual follow-up.
At the same time, the data is structured in a way that makes it possible to analyze patient flow, ordering patterns, and resource utilization. This provides valuable insights that optician chains can use to plan staffing, adjust opening hours, and tailor services to different customer groups.
Scalable solution with proven effectiveness
Medibrix is designed for quick and easy implementation and works equally well for both individual clinics and large chains. Synsam rolled out the solution to 80 stores in two weeks, while nationwide pharmacy chain Apotek 1 implemented Medibrix across its entire network of 400 pharmacies in just four days.
The effect is measurable: Synsam has reduced the cost per examination by 50%, while increasing the capacity of its opticians fivefold, without any decrease in customer satisfaction. For customers, this means faster access, flexible follow-up and a seamless digital patient journey – without losing quality.
And only when both parties experience the new digital solutions we use as positive can we say that we are actually successful!
